NORTH SEA SERIES
This continuing body of work is an ode to time spent by the Normandy seaside. Inspiration for this work comes from the characters, fisherman, the sea, coastline & clothing - predominantly Chanel's famous "Breton Stripe" which is worn at large by seamen and oyster farmers in the area. There are connections to the Normandy dairy industry and abondance of milk and cream produced in the countryside and the forms draw inspiration from lighthouse's scattered along the coastline which stand proudly after centuries of battering by wild ocean storms - much like men and women from the coast who work in and around the sea.
